Iraq and Afghanistan :
Since our nation is already deeply involved with both these nations, there is not very much which can be said except, that since we are there now, we must stick it out, and make good by maintaining a long term commitment to those peoples.
Personally, If I was President at the time, I would of been honest with the America people and state clearly that while Afghanistan, was a political war, due to the fact that the Taliban was using their nation as a literal world wide training ground for terrorism, that Iraq was an economic war, brought on by the fact that Saddam Hussein, dropped using the Dollar as the trading currency for its oil, and as such, was attempting to cause the decline of the Dollar world wide, as pay back for our liberating Kuwait.
As such, if we are going to use the excuse of helping people, by replacing their nations governments, then we should not hesitate to invade many other nations who have a much worse track record of abusing their people. And while I do not advocate the invasion of what would be half the world, our government should at the very least be honest with the American people about why we are going to war.
Yet, if America is going to lead war, and stand up and fight for freedom and justice and American principles of economic liberty and whats right, then we must lead by example, and that means our own government must restore our nations Constitution as the rule of law, because for 80 years, it has not been, as our government has operated in a state of emergency, and has been without the rules and limitations of that Constitution. PERIOD.
IF WE ARE GOING TO SEND OUR TROOPS OUT TO DIE FOR THE CONSTITUTION, THEN WE SURE AS HELL BETTER RESTORE IT AS THE BINDING LEGAL BASIS OF AMERICAN LAW!!
The Constitution matters, especially to our troops.
