The Militia and Military : The Constitution actually says the Federal Government cannot establish and raise and pay for AN ARMY for more than 2 years, yet with modern weapons, and modern problems, the need for a standing Army exists, especially due to nuclear weapons.
Proposed solutions for the Militia and Military :
a) Simply put, we cannot disband our Army, Air Force and Navy, as they are too essential in our modern world to defend our nation and interests, and as such, we need only set forth Amendments to change a few lines of the Constitution to allow for a standing Army, Navy, and Air Force, and to include a Space Force, but in doing so, we must mandate limits and conditions on its use, such as limited offensive purpose, and a defensive mandate, and set restrictions on its powers to engage in war without meeting specific standards of need, as well as limits on draft potentials.
b) While at the same time, the Militia should be revived, and all able bodied men, should be trained in their local communities to use and be proficient in modern weapons of warfare, so as to defend the nation when needed, yet those weapons of military quality should be stored in secure locations in each community and not in peoples closets, other than reasonable private weapons to be owned and used by private citizens for their personal home protection and security. (Reasonable weapons meaning, hand guns, shot guns, rifles, and even some automatic weapons, but would "NOT" include grenades, RPG's, ground to air missles, and high powered 50 caliber sniper rifles. I.E.. Reasonable use for home defence. This reasonable limit is required, due to the incredible fire power now available. And for those people who wish to use such larger military grade weapons, then they can easily join the local Militias, and be trained in their use, but as such, are subject to potential drafts.)
c) Draft potentials should only apply to those able bodied men, who regularly take part in local community Militia training.
d) And perhaps most importantly, our nation cannot be cheap when it comes to caring for VETERANS, by providing abundant assistance, medical care, mental care, and otherwise, taking care of these men and women, who gave so much, and all to often, get so little in return. We dont need to provide hand outs, or to enable their weakness, but we must offer the assistance and services to make it easy for them to get back to living amongst the free people they fought so hard to protect, and as importantly, we must restore the Constitution which they fought so hard to defend, and make sure they know, how much they and their sacrifice is appreciated.
