Immigration : As is well known, America has a fairly large problem in the form of rampant out of control illegal immigration, and something must be done.
Proposals for illegal immigration : I will personally make the following happen.
a) The borders must be made secure, by any and all means availible for that purpose, therefore I will order the National Guard to the border, to secure it completely.
b) Mandate that all employers who presently employ illegal workers, must sponsor (be responsible and liable for) them, until such time as they become permit holding legal immigrants or citizens, and that they must all go to the back of the immigration line, and must during their temporary sponsored status not engage in any common law criminal activity or face hard labor and deportation. And employers who refuse to sponsor illegal immigrant workers, and yet employ them, should be fined to such a degree as to prevent this abuse, such as 10,000 dollars per non-sponsored illegal immigrant worker in their employment. Making the risk of sponsorship much more appealing.
All of this all ready exists as law, and as President, I would impliment this, and begin fining employers, until they either sponsor those workers, or hire Americans.
c) During their temporary status period, they are not granted rights or any of the privileges of citizens, or of social benefits, which are provided to legal immigrants who waited in line and have a work permit, such as FREE emergency room health care, unless it is a true emergency requiring an ambulance, such as on the job injuries, broken bones, and life threatening illnesses, and are instead provided access to medical services, where in they must pay cash, or otherwise establish some form of debt payment method for the provision of any care, and should emergency care be needed, they should be personally responsible for the debt of that care, and should be liable for it as for any other debt, and the state and county can hold that debt, without interest, until such time, as it is paid off to the state and county, over time, by the illegal immigrant worker. And yet the illegal immigrant workers should retain the right to question and challenge the charge for service, relative to the service and care provided, so as to prevent abuse by hospitals and care providers, who might prey upon them. And any such abuse should be punished appropriately.
It was decided by the courts, that illegal aliens, cannot be denied emergency room care, and I would never suggest that they should be denied care, but, there is nothing in the law that says they have to get it for free. There is no reason why they cannot pay for their own care, via some debt payment program, over time, since as illegal immigrants, they are not actually allowed to be here and using these services in the first place, and as such, should not be granted all the free benefits which belongs to the actual American people, and legal immigrants. Yet, once they get a legal work permit, and or become a citizen, then they can enjoy those benefits, but not until then.
d) The punishment for any violation of American common law, should automatically come with double the effective term of punishment, where by they must as such, be twice as nice, and twice as good as actual citizens, or suffer twice the punishment. Until such time as they become legal status workers with permits, and or citizens.
In this way, we can allow the 12 million illegal immigrants to stay, but they are not granted immediate amnesty, and they are not granted abundant social services for free, and they are forced to be on their best behavior, literally, or be punished at twice the level that legal immigrants are subject to.
So, if they are good people, hard working, and can be trusted to be good common law citizens, then they should all be allowed to stay and share in the American dream, and those who abuse the system, abuse others, and cause problems, are punished severely with hard labor, and then deported, and as such loose all rights to immigrate again in the future, by having proven themselves to be criminals.
And, this encourages employers to hire legal workers, and citizens who as workers do not come with any of these complications or risk of sponsoring immigrants,, thus removing the advantage had by illegal immigrants and greatly reduces the rate at which they can take jobs from actual American citizens.
